Z. I’ve been working since High School, how is so much of this young generation jobless in their 20’s?

It can be frustrating to see so many young people struggling to find employment in their 20’s, especially when you have been working since high school. I understand the confusion and concern about why so many seemingly qualified individuals are jobless.

There are a few reasons for the high unemployment rate among young adults. Firstly, the job market has become increasingly competitive, with more qualified candidates vying for limited job opportunities. This can make it difficult for recent graduates to secure a job, despite their qualifications and work ethic.

Additionally, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant effect on the job market, leading to widespread layoffs and hiring freezes. Many industries have been hit hard, making it even more challenging for young people to find employment.

Furthermore, the rising cost of education and living expenses has left many young adults saddled with student loan debt and struggling to make ends meet. This can make it difficult for them to pursue further education or take unpaid internships to gain experience.

It’s important to recognize that the job market is constantly evolving, and it’s not always a reflection of individual effort or qualifications. As someone who has been working since high school, I understand the value of hard work and determination. It’s important to continue to support and advocate for opportunities for young people to enter the workforce and gain valuable skills and experience.
