We gave a second life to an old bathtub by transforming it into an amazing piece of furniture for our home: Here’s how we did it

Instead of throwing away an old bathtub, we decided to repurpose it by creating something practical. The first step was to cut it in half to create the base for a future sofa. It wasn’t just about cutting; we also made sure the edges were smoothed out and secured to avoid any risks.
Next, we applied a coat of paint. To give our future sofa some character, we chose vibrant and contrasting colors: the outside was painted black, and the inside was a bright red. We also customized the feet of the bathtub by painting them red, adding a touch of harmony to the whole piece.

Once the paint dried, we added the key element: comfort. We used soft cushions and a thick mattress to turn our piece of furniture into a sofa that’s as comfortable as it is stylish.

Perfect for the garden, our bathtub sofa blends in beautifully outdoors. It can be placed directly on the ground, providing a cozy space to enjoy the fresh air. In case of rain, simply remove the cushions and mattress to protect them from the moisture.

The final result? A functional and unique piece of furniture that now enhances our garden. This project is a great example of creativity, proving that even an object that seems useless can be transformed into something beautiful and useful with a little imagination and effort.
