This was the bomb at the BBQ – my sister made it and folks couldn’t stop asking about how it’s made.

There’s something truly heartwarming about preparing a dish that fills the home with delightful aromas and brings everyone running to the table. My slow cooker apple kielbasa bites are just that kind of dish. Originating from the comforting combination of smoky sausage and sweet apples, this recipe is a hit at family gatherings, potlucks, or as a cozy meal on a chilly evening. Easy to prepare and irresistibly tasty, these bites are perfect for anyone looking to add a little zest to their meal lineup.
These apple kielbasa bites are splendid on their own, but they truly shine when paired with the right side dishes. Consider serving them with a creamy potato salad or a warm loaf of crusty bread to sop up the delicious sauce. For a healthier twist, a crisp green salad or steamed green beans also make fantastic companions. And if it’s a casual gathering, why not skewer these bites with toothpicks and serve them as appetizers?

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
Directions
1. Place the sliced kielbasa into your slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, mix together the chopped apples, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3. Pour the apple mixture over the kielbasa in the slow cooker.
4. Add the chopped onion on top of the apple and kielbasa mixture.
5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and the kielbasa is glazed.
6. Serve warm, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired.
Variations & Tips
For those who enjoy a bit of extra spice, adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or some smoked paprika to the recipe can give these bites a delightful kick. If dealing with picky eaters, you might want to reduce the mustard and vinegar slightly to soften the flavors. And for an even fruitier twist, try adding a handful of dried cranberries or raisins in the last hour of cooking.
