This Condition Could Be Why Your Fingernails Change Color

If you notice that your fingertips are changing color, it could be a sign that something else is taking place in the body. This isn’t always the case, but it is worth watching.

One condition that could cause extremities to change color, including your fingers and toes is Raynaud’s disease, or Raynaud’s phenomenon.

Typically, the extremities would change color to either white or red when you experience stress, cold, or other forms of anxiety. The changing color is typically due to a reduction in blood flow.

Other symptoms associated with Raynaud’s disease include feelings of pins and needles, discomfort, and numbness. Some of the symptoms can become severe or chronic.

The issue may also extend beyond the area of the fingertips or toes.

They could affect the lips, ears, and nose or other areas of the body.
