4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 jar (16 oz) of your favorite salsa
1 packet of taco seasoning
Directions
1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
3. Pour the salsa over the top, making sure the chicken is well covered.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it well with the salsa and juices in the slow cooker.
6. Serve hot with your choice of sides or use as a filling for tacos, burritos, or salads.
Variations & Tips
For a milder version, use a mild salsa and reduce the taco seasoning. If you like it spicy, add a chopped jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper. You can also add a can of black beans or corn for extra texture and flavor. For a creamier dish, stir in some cream cheese or sour cream before serving. If you have picky eaters, serve the chicken plain and let them add their favorite toppings.
