The Mysterious Pile of Granules: This Could Also Happen in Your Home

In some online groups dedicated to practical subjects like cleaning or maintenance, unexpected situations occasionally arise, sparking heated debates and causing concern among participants. This is what happened in a group called “Housing Tips” when Kelly Tarin posted a photo of a strange pile she had found in her home.

On August 10th, Kelly shared a photo of a small pile resembling debris or dirt residues and asked the group members if they could help identify what it might be. She had found such piles every day, but exclusively in her daughter’s room, which made her even more worried. Kelly described the granules as looking like shells or coffee grounds, even resembling an ant nest.

An Increasingly Complex Puzzle

The post quickly went viral, attracting over 9,000 comments and 440,000 reactions. But despite all the attention, no one could provide a definitive answer. Group members suggested several hypotheses:

  1.    An ant nest
  2.   Mouse droppings
  3. Traces left by termites

To solve the puzzle, Kelly reached out to pest control experts, but they too couldn’t identify the source. According to them, it was the first time they had encountered something like this in their career.

Kelly’s updates revealed that she had decided to have her daughter sleep at her father’s house while the problem was being resolved. The experts ruled out the termite theory because their traces would have a different texture. The ideas of mice or cockroaches were also not confirmed. One of the most surprising suggestions was that bats were responsible, but this theory was actively dismissed since the conditions for their presence were not present in this part of Texas.

The Unexpected Solution

In the end, the answer to the mystery came in a surprising way. One of the group members suggested that it might be the contents of a stuffed toy. Kelly then remembered that a lavender-filled teddy bear had been lying near the mysterious piles. She had thrown it away, thinking it was damaged, but upon checking it later, she found a small hole in the toy. The contents of the teddy bear were what caused the mysterious granules.

Thus, the mystery was solved, and everything returned to normal.
