I’m 51 and my hands were looking like my grandma’s – my once-a-week routine rejuvenates them, the final step is free

A SKINCARE fan has shared the trick to returning youth to granny hands.

Her anti-aging hand-care routine made a huge difference in her wrinkles and the texture of her skin.

Shannon O’Brien (@shan_abundancenaturally) shared the beauty tip in a viral video.

“I’m 51 and my hands were looking like my grandma’s,” she said.

“Here’s how I rejuvenated the skin on the back of my hands, which was really starting to show my age.”

Once a week, Shannon uses Wrinkles Schminkles hand patches to help restore moisture to her dehydrated skin.

The $43.99 silicone patches are cut to fit the back of the hand, and according to the description,”support the skin’s natural ability to hydrate the skin, retain moisture, stimulate blood flow and boost collagen production.”

They’re also reusable and can be worn for as little as one to two hours or overnight.

Then, when Shannon washes her hands, she uses a special hand soap to prevent them from being stripped of their natural oils.

The Thursday Plantation soap, $5.99, is made with melaleuca alternifolia tea tree leaf oil and coconut acid.

“I do so with this tea tree cleansing bar because it’s both hydrating and blended with natural plant oils,” she said.

“It’s a bonus that cleansing with a solid bar saves money and plastic waste.”

She added that another trick is to carry the skincare you use on your face down to your hands.

“Just like I do on my face, I add a couple of drops of Kosmea Rosehip Oil on my hands and rub it in, including my cuticles,” she said.

She explained that the $19.95 rosehip oil from Kosmea Australia is a natural source of tretinoin, which helps her hands regenerate new skin.

“Get all that natural vitamin A into my skin,” she said.

Last but not least, her free technique helps improve the blood flow in her hands.

“I elevate my hands over my head and just do some stretching exercises to improve my circulation, and this is the result,” she said.

“Less scaliness and dryness, and now my hands look more like my own and not my grandma’s.”

Her viewers shocked by the dramatic change her skincare routine made.

“That made such a difference, though; that’s insane!” said one commenter.

Some shared their own affordable and easy advice for healthier-looking hands.

“Also cheap — put Vaseline, a piece of plastic wrap, and cloth gloves with [the] fingertips cut while sleeping,” suggested one commenter.

“[It] works for shins to just put on knee-high socks.”

Some were excited to try her tricks out on themselves and relatives.
“Gonna do this for my mom. She cleans houses for a living, and chemicals ruined her skin; she always says that her hands look old,” said one viewer.
