Based on recent public appearances, President Biden’s elderly status has become increasingly scrutinized as the U.S. approaches the 2024 presidential election.  Joe Biden’s behavior has become a hotly contested topic of political debate, causing many to question the president’s memory and cognitive abilities, two seemingly crucial qualities the leader of the United States should have.

However, such events have become ubiquitous throughout the Biden presidency. The 81-year-old has consistently demonstrated that he isn’t always steady on his feet, has memory lapses, and often mumbles incoherently through speeches.

Adding fuel to this fire, the popular X account “Clown World” shared a video of Joe Biden being introduced to a group of people, causing many to call out the concerning body language and demeanor the president displayed during the interaction.  Social media users quickly pointed out that Biden looked confused and not mentally with it.

WTF is happening? It looked like he was ready to charge her. It’s actually getting hard to watch. I don’t like him but good lord somebody needs to get him to a retirement home,” one X user wrote in the comments section.”  Another person added, “Lights are on but nobody’s home.”

Many have looked at Biden’s purported cognitive decline and have found it hard to believe such an elderly individual could possibly lead a dominant world power such as the United States.  “No wonder Vladimir Putin said the POTUS isn’t the one leading the US,” one user commented.

Others pointed out that Biden’s mental state should be a “wake-up call” for Americans.  “I think he’s about to get retired pretty soon… I believe it was probably a wake-up call for some people to see the president of Russia able to remember the history of his country in great detail, along with his relationships and conversations with politicians over his political career, but Biden not being able to remember how to get off of a stage he was placed on 10 minutes prior,” another commenter wrote.

While conservatives have called out evidence of Joe Biden’s waning mental function for years, the president’s campaign recently suffered a critical blow from the conclusion of a Department of Justice special counsel report.  The American Tribune recently reported on the findings from Special Counsel Robert Hur, which decided not to bring charges against the president for his mishandling of classified information.

However, the special counsel partly made that determination on the basis of Biden’s elderly age and memory.  “We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” the report stated. “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.”
